Odisha gets its third COVID-19 special hospital

Odisha is racing ahead in its preparedness to provide treatment facilities to COVID 19 patients. Today, the state government's third facility, a 500 bedded Odisha COVID-19 Hospital, plus 20 bedded ICU facility has been made ready to serve in the state capital.

Bhubaneswar:In a bid to provide treatment facilities to COVID-19 patients, the Odisha government on Monday inaugurated a COVID-19 special hospital in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, the 500 bedded COVID-19 Hospital has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pralhad Joshi through the video conference.

The hospital has 500 general beds and 20 ICU beds with all state-of-the-art technology to treat COVID-19 patients. With this, Odisha has now got 1350 beds in four hospitals, completely dedicated to COVID-19 patents, sources said.

The new COVID-19 hospital, third in Odisha, will be managed by a private-run SUM hospital and sponsored by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd(MCL).

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik interacted with the doctors and healthcare workers of the hospital through video conferencing. He appreciated their commitment to serve people during this global pandemic.

Patnaik also thanked Union Minister Joshi and Dharmendra Pradhan for their support and MCL for sponsoring this facility for people of Odisha, sources added.
