Security beefed up for PLGA week

Security arrangements have been tightened in the district as the Maoists have announced to observe the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week from today.

Malkangiri(Odisha):Security arrangements have been tightened in the district as the Maoists have announced to observe the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Week from today.

The week-long observation of the armed wing of the banned Maoist organisation will continue till December 8.

During the PLGA week, the Maoists hold meetings in villages and offer tributes to the red rebels who have been killed in police encounters and urge the villagers to join their cadres.

They also indulge in various violent activities to put pressure on the administration.

The PLGA week is being organised by Maoists every year since 2001. On the other hand, Maoists have put up banners and flexes throughout the region to make the PLGA week a success.
