Odisha: Man, wife, daughter found dead in mysterious circumstances

Bodies of a man, his wife and daughter were recovered from their house in Ganjam district of Odisha. On getting information, a police team reached the spot. A probe has been initiated to ascertain the cause of death.

Berhampur: Three bodies including that of a man, his wife and daughter were recovered from their house at Palia area under Chhatrapur police limits in Odisha's Ganjam district on Wednesday morning, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Brundaban Behera, his wife Urmila Behera and daughter Sunita.

According to sources, the incident came to light after locals alerted the matter to the police this morning. Police along with a forensic team reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter. The bodies were seized and sent to a local hospital for post-mortem.

While Brindaban was found hanging from the ceiling, his wife and daughter were found in a pool of blood.

"While the cause behind the trio's death is yet to be ascertained. Chhatrapur police IIC, SDPO and Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai are monitoring the situation. Investigations are on to find the reason for the death. We have started the preliminary investigation and further probe is on," said Thakur Prasad Patro, additional SP, Ganjam.
