Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Newly-appointed Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for giving him the opportunity to serve as the governor, and said he would try to solve some of the contentious issues the state is facing with Odisha.
Recalling the last meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 84-year-old politician said: "I am very grateful to the Prime Minister who has appointed me as Governor of Andhra Pradesh. On June 30, I met him and presented a biography which I have written. During the meeting, he asked many questions about politics and other issues."

Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the newly-appointed Governor of Andhra Prades thanked both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for giving him the opportunity. Harichandan said he would be glad to help solve issues between Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
He also thanked the people of Odisha.
On being asked about the border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, Harichandan said though the role of the Governor is limited, still he would be happy to discuss the issues with both the states.
"There are many serious issues, including the border dispute, between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. You know that the role of the Governor is very limited," adding he would be happy to help resove the same.
Knowing his limitation well as a Governor, the newly appointed said he would try and contribute for development of the state.
Harichandan a former Odisha minister, will replace E S L Narasimhan, who has been the Governor of Andhra Pradesh for the last one decade.
