Bhubaneshwar:'Robo Chef restaurant', which is to open on Thursday at Infocity DLF Tower area in Odisha's Bhubaneswar is believed to be the first restaurant in eastern India where two indigenously developed robots namely 'Champa' and 'Chameli' would be in attendance near the customers' table.
The moment you enter the hotel and take your seat, 'Champa' and 'Chameli' would be ready to take the order.
As soon as you place the order, they go back to the counter to convey the same and return with the food items. After you finish the food, they enquire as to whether you are satisfied with their behaviour.
This has become a hot topic of discussion in Bhubaneswar.
After serving food to their customers, the robots also put a question to the customers to know if they are satisfied with the food or not by asking: Are you happy?, a quote derived from Odisha Chief Minister’s speeches which has become famous in recent times.
According to the owner of the restaurant, Jit Basat, the success of his endeavour is the result of a dream cherished by him since long. He always wanted to do something new which would also carry forward the image of his state.
