Bhubaneswar: To prevent any outbreak of COVID-19, the Information Technology firms located in the State Capital and Cuttack have been asked to implement special protective measures.
According to the notification issued by the Twin City Police Commissionerate, all IT/ITES companies in the state to register details of foreign returnee employees through online portal https://covid19.odisha.gov.in.
Non-declaration by any such employee is a punishable offence under Regulations for prevention and containment of coronavirus (COVID-19), official sources said.
The Companies are advised to restrict all travels within or outside the country unless absolutely necessary and conduct such meetings using suitable IT platform, sources said.
Odisha Government’s website https://covid19.odisha.gov.in became functional from March 17 for self-registration of foreign returnees in view of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak. This should be done within 24 hours of arrival with basic details and phone numbers, sources added.
Notably, the primary liability will be that of the head of the establishment. All Police Officers above the rank of ASI may visit any IT Company and initiate appropriate legal action in case violations come to their notice.
