Nagpur: An unfortunate incident has come to light in Nagpur where two young women were lured into the business of prostitution as they lost their jobs due to the lockdown. The shocking information came to light when police raided a partially constructed house in Vijayanand Society, located on the Nagpur-Koradi road.

The main accused in the case, Chandrashekhar Mudaliar, had allegedly involved some women in prostitution in his half-built house in Vijayanand Colony on Koradi Marg. The police contacted the broker through some fake customers. After a deal was struck, a man posing as customer was sent to the house in Vijayanand Society on Wednesday. The police raided the place after receiving signal from him. It was then revealed that Chandrashekhar Mudaliar had forced two young women into prostitution. The police immediately arrested Chandrasekhar Mudaliar and brought the two women to the police station for questioning.

The two young women were reportedly working in different places before the lockdown. One girl worked as a designer in a saree factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, while the other worked in a private hospital in Nagpur. However, after the lockdown in March, the first girl returned to Nagpur after losing her job. The other woman who worked as a hospital attendant became unemployed after the OPD at the private hospital was shut during the initial period of the lockdown. Unemployed and worried about earning a living for their families, both women began looking for jobs after an ease in the lockdown on May 17.

Mudaliar was paying very little to the two women despite charging a huge amount of money from the customers, it is revealed.
