Chandrapur (Maharashtra):With the commencement of the nationwide lockdown, many of the private firms shut down their companies with the subsequent loss registered during the pandemic.
Hundreds of companies have laid off thousands of their employees. This affects the livelihood of the employees at a larger extent. Several people have ended their lives while numerous people have chosen to fight against the deadly pandemic.
A similar incident can be witnessed at Maharashtra's Chandrapur area where a young engineer has started selling idli in order to beat the depression of being an unemployed engineer.
Palash Jain, hailing from a middle-class family, graduated from Nashik University with a degree in mechanical engineering. After completing his degree, he was associated with a multinational company as a supervisor in Aurangabad.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a nationwide lockdown to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, the organisation informed Palash, "You were working well but unfortunately we are not in the condition to pay you salary as the organisation had been facing a huge cash crunch due to lockdown."
