Mumbai: A woman on her way to the hospital gave birth to a child in a local train at Mumbai's Virar Railway Station on Monday.
A resident of Saphale, Sony Patel boarded a local train with her husband to reach a government hospital in Virar. She was nine months pregnant and going for a medical check-up to the hospital.
Baby delivered in Mumbai train She got the labour pain on her way to the hospital after which some woman porters rushed for help and pushed for the delivery.
Meanwhile, a doctor of the Western Railway reached there and Patel gave birth to a baby girl. The mother-daughter duo was immediately shifted to the nearest government hospital through an ambulance. They were declared safe by the doctors and will be discharged by Wednesday.
