Two college students drown in sea in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri

Two college students on a picnic drown in the sea at Palande beach in Maharashtra. Police registered unnatural death cases and sent the bodies for post mortem.

Ratnagiri (Maharashtra): In a tragic incident, two college students drowned while taking bath in the sea near Harne Palande under Dapoli police limits in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district on Saturday and four others were rescued and hospitalised.

The deceased duo has been identified as the residents of Mahad area.

According to sources, the six youths from Mahad locality had gone to the Palande beach for a picnic. While taking bath in the sea, they got swept away with tides.

Locals present at the beach managed to rescue all of them in a critical condition and admitted them to hospital.

While undergoing treatment at the hospital, two were pronounced dead by the doctors.

Police have seized the bodies for post-mortem and also informed the deceased persons' family, sources said.
