Mumbai:November 26, 2020 marks the 12th anniversary of one of the deadliest terror attacks in India that left at least 197 people dead and about 600 people injured.
On the night of November 26, 2008, Mumbai woke up to the sound of gunfire when terrorists attacked Chhabad House, two hotels, a railway station, a hospital and a place of worship in India's financial capital.
As the night progressed, the severity of the attack was revealed of which the Mumbaikars still have bitter memories of.
To stop the gunmen raining bullets on the city, Mumbai police fought bravely and lost some bravehearts too. Today, we take a look at the top five places targeted by the terrorists
1) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST)
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus is the busiest railway station in Mumbai. Just as the attack on Leopold began on November 26, another group of terrorists also opened fire at the CST. There was a huge crowd of passengers from this railway station that day to go to their respective places. Noticing this crowd, two terrorists started firing. At least 58 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.
