State honours for Indian troops killed in border fighting

Two soldiers from Maharashtra attained martyrdom in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistani army in the Gurez sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The last rites of both the soldiers were performed with full state honours.

Mumbai (Maharashtra):The last rites of jawans Rishikesh Jondhale and Bhushan Satai, who were killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistani soldiers in Kashmir, were performed at their native villages with full state honours. The Pakistani army, on 13th November, attacked Indian posts in Gurez sector in Kashmir defying ceasefire. Maharashtra’s two Jawans attained martyrdom in the attack.

Katol, Nagpur

Last rites of slain Jawan Bhusnan Satai were performed at his native village. His body was brought to Nagpur on Sunday night by a special plane after which it was kept at Guard regiment at Kamthin after which Bhushan was cremated with state honours.

A large crowd attended the funeral ceremony of the soldier. State home minister Anil Deshmukh, Sunil Kedar and power minister Nitin Raut were also present on the occasion.

Ajra, Kolhapur

Last rites of martyr Rishikesh Jondhale were performed at Bahirewadi in Kolhapur with full military honours. His cousin Deepak Jondhale performed all the rituals. Rishikesh attained martyrdom while fighting to protect our borders.

Earlier, his body was brought in Kolhapur early morning on Sunday, where Maratha battalion saluted slain Jawan for his supreme sacrifice. His funeral procession was taken amid slogans like Rishikesh Jondhale Amar Rahe(Long live Rishikesh Jondhale, Bharat Mata Ki Jay,) Bharat Mata Ki Jay.

Martyrdom while fighting on borders

On 13th November Indian posts were attacked by Pakistani soldiers in Gurez sector. Indian Army retaliated strongly and killed many Pakistani soldiers. But, two Jawans from Maharashtra attained martyrdom in the attack. There was a delay to hand over the bodies of slain Jawans as the atmosphere at borders had become tense. ETV Group salutes the martyrs who laid their life for the nation.
