Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra):At least six people were killed in a massive fire that broke out at a hand glove manufacturing company in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the early hours of Sunday, officials said.
The deceased were identified as Bhalla Sheikh, Kausar Sheikh, Iqbal Sheikh Magaruf Sheikh and but there is no clarity on the identity of the rest.
According to the eyewitnesses, Akbar Ali, Latkoon Sheikh, Afroz Sheikh and Dilip Kumar all hailing from Mirzapur, Bihar were able to save their lives. Getting the tip off, Assistant Commissioner, Ashok Thorat along with other cops of MIDC Police Station and Fire Brigade rushed to the spot.
Around 20 to 25 employee work at the Sunshine Enterprises, the company at C 216 in Waluj Industrial Area. According to Fire department officials, the blaze erupted around 02:15 am at the factory.
"We received a call at 2:15 a.m. When we reached the incident site, the entire factory was on fire. Locals informed us that six people were trapped inside. Our officers entered and the bodies of six people have been recovered," Mohan Mungse, a fire officer, told ANI.
