Mumbai:Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has filed a defamation suit against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and some media outlets.
It was reported by some of the media outlets that Sarnaik held Pakistani credit cards.
Following this, Kangana had taken Twitter to criticise the Shiv Sena leader.
"While I did not have any Pakistani credit card, the news was spread deliberately to defame me. The media also spread the news. So I am filing a defamation suit against all of them today," Sarnaik said.
Clarifying further about the Pakistani credit card, he said, "No Pakistani credit card was found by ED during their investigation. Kangana tweeted this fake news to defame me and my family due to which various media outlets spread the fake news of me owning Pakistani credit cards." Sarnaik also said that he has filed a defamation case against the actress, print and electronic mediums who publicised this fake news that defamed his family.
He added that the ED is investigating him and his family and they are cooperating with the agency to carry out the necessary investigation.
"I have also told the ED officers that I will be present in two hours if there is a need," Sarnaik said.
