Raj Thackeray gets bail in toll plaza vandalism case

MNS chief Raj Thackeray was granted bail in the 2014 Vashi toll plaza vandalism case. Following Thackeray's speech in Vashi in 2014, MNS workers had vandalised a toll plaza.

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray was on Saturday granted bail in the 2014 Vashi toll plaza vandalism case.

According to reports, Thackeray, who appeared before the Vashi court today, was granted bail on surety of Rs 15,000.

Meanwhile, the next hearing in the case will be on May 5. The court has given exemption to Raj Thackeray from appearing before the court in the next hearing.

After Thackeray's speech in Vashi on January 26, 2014, MNS workers had reportedly vandalised the Vashi toll plaza.

A case was registered against Raj Thackeray, Navi Mumbai MNS president Gajanan Kale and seven others at Vashi police station. Thackeray was repeatedly summoned by the court in the case.

However, as the MNS chief did not appear before the court, an arrest warrant was issued against him.

The court had asked Thackeray to appear before it on February 6. The court also warned that action would be taken against Thackeray if he failed to appear.
