Side effects blamed on Remdesivir in Maharashtra

One batch of Remdesivir injections has led to side effects in 90 patients in Raigarh. The state drugs department has ordered not to use any injection from the batch - Covifor HCL21013.

Raigad: One batch of bad Remdesivir injections has led to side effects in 90 patients in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. The state drugs department has ordered not to use any injection from the batch - Covifor HCL21013.

This bad batch of Remdesivir injection arrived in Raigad on April 28 from the Food and Drug Administration. In the district, 120 patients were injected with Remdesivir injections from this batch. Out of which 90 patients have side effects.

Doctors have stabilised the patients with side effects while the orders have been issued to stop using injections of this batch. The information was shared by District Collector of Raigad, Nidhi Chaudhary.

Extremely severe corona patients are given Remdesivir injections. At present, efforts are being made by the Raigad district administration to supply these injections to the patients immediately. The district administration receives supplies of Remdesivir injections from the Food and Drug Administration.
