Maharashtra police deny BRS permission for Aamkhas Maidan rally; Jambida Maidan chosen as alternate

BRS will hold its third public meeting in Maharashtra on April 24 as planned but for a change in the venue as the State Police have not issued mandatory permission for the original venue.

Aurangabad (Maharashtra): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) National President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao's third public meeting in Maharashtra which was earlier planned to be held at Aamkhas Maidan will now be held at Jambida Maidan on Bid bypass road on April 24 at around 5 pm, sources said.

According to official sources, the permission to hold a meeting at Aamkhas Maidan was denied by the Maharashtra Police keeping in view the security of the CM and his party workers. Sources said that the party workers decided to hold the meeting at Aamkhas Maidan as it is in the middle of the city but Police denied the permission saying that Aamkhas Maidan is in a sensitive area and holding a meeting will be a threat to the BRS leader.

Police sources said, "the venue of the meeting was shifted keeping in view the security of the leader and party workers. And also the the ground belonged to the Cultural Sports Board and holding a political party at this ground will not be right."

The police then suggested Milind College to hold the party meeting, but the party workers refused to conduct the meeting there. Keeping in view that a large number people will throng the meeting, and a large ground will be required for the meeting, the administration decided to offer BRS Jambida Maidan on Bid bypass road and it was accepted by the party as well.

Earlier, the BRS held its biggest meeting in Maharashtra's Nanded on March 26. It was the second public meeting of the party in Maharashtra. Nanded's Loha hosted the meeting, for which the city was completely turned pink with BRS flags and banners seen everywhere. Arrangements were made to accommodate lakhs of citizens and security personnel were deployed to ensure maximum vigil.
