Mumbai: Mumbai Police officer Bhimraj Rohidas Ghadge has filed an intervention application in the Supreme Court on Friday against former Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh's plea to transfer cases registered against him to some other state from Maharashtra as he apprehends vendetta against him.

Ghadge has pleaded to the apex court that though Singh is portraying himself as an "upright and honest police officer", the facts against him gives a different picture and there is no reason to transfer his cases at his whims and fancies when the Bombay High Court has given him protection.

Ghadge accuses Singh of misusing his post for promoting junior police officers and interfering in an investigation where builders and Kalyan Donbivli Municipal Corporation officials had duped the state government of Rs 124 crores.

Ghadge claimed that he was asked by the former commissioner to drop the officials and builders names from the charge sheet which Ghadge refused.

This led to a conspiracy against him and false cases were registered and he had to spend 14 months and 21 days in jail till the sessions court acquitted him. Ghadge had filed a plea against Singh in Bombay High court over this conspiracy which is still pending.

Param Bir Singh had filed a plea in the top court seeking transfer but the hearing could not proceed as Justice BR Gavai had recused from hearing the matter. It will be placed before another bench now.
