Mumbai:Opposition parties in Maharashtrahave criticised the interim budget 2019-20 which was presentedin the state legislature on Wednesday by finance minister SudhirMungantiwar.
The financial plan for 2019-20 has an estimatedrevenue deficit of Rs 19,784 crore and a provision of specialfund for farm loan waiver.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative AssemblyRadhakrishna Vikhe Patil of Congress said that Mungantiwar hasslashed provisions for several special sectors.
"Mungantiwar delivered his speech in a higher pitchbut he has cut down the expenditure on several specialsectors," Vikhe Patil said.
"The state government has made only "tall promises" ofconstructing memorials of Babasaheb Ambedkar and ChhatrapatiShivaji Maharaj, but not a single brick is laid to beginconstruction," he alleged.
"Out of the total budget outlay of Rs 4.08 lakh crorein the last year, the state government has actually spent only65 per cent of total allocations," the Congress leader said.
