Kolhapur (Maharashtra): In a unique celebration in Maharashtra, the naming ceremony of a newborn baby was held at a COVID care centre in Kolhapur on Thursday.
The naming ceremony of the 13-day-old baby was held at the COVID care centre of the White Army Institute and Medical Association at Jain Boarding in the city. What was special about the celebration was that all the women who had recovered from the virus at the centre, were invited for the ceremony.
Amrita Gurav, who currently resides in Mumbai, had come back to Kolhapur for the birth of her second child, and was visiting a reputed obstetrician and gynaecologist in the city.
On September 3, she started developing labour pains and was rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors were not ready to admit her without taking a swab.
After her swab test, she tested positive for Coronavirus, following which the doctor who Amrita was consulting so far refused to admit her for delivery. However, a nearby doctor admitted her to his hospital as her labour pain intensified. The doctors opted for a Caesarean and at around 1 am, Amrita Gurav gave birth to an adorable baby girl.
