Mumbai mayor honored for leading Covid fight

Mumbai Mayor, Kishori Pednekar was presented with a trophy and a certificate of appreciation by theWorld Book of Records London. She was recognized for her diligence in tackling the Covid crisis.

Mumbai:The mayor of Mumbai Kishori Pednekar, praised for her role in tackling the Covid crisis, was facilitated by the World Book of Records London. Donning a nurse's uniform while visiting a Covid ward, Pednekar left an unforgettable impression among the people last year.

Pednekar was presented with a trophy and a certificate of appreciation by state President of World Book of Records London Farah Sultan Ahmed. "We are inspired by her work ethics and enthusiasm during the Covid period and we are privileged to recognize her work," Ahmed said.

A nurse by profession, the Mayor remained undeterred in serving Covid patients even after contracting Covid herself. Pednekar is the seventh female mayor of Mumbai. Mumbai residents are full of awe for the mayor who is quite engaging with the citizens, reports said. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reportedly imported 33 neonatal intensive care ventilators from Argentina. The preparedness comes after the Chief Minister's warning of the third wave of Covid, according to reports.
