Minor girl kills mother after argument over her studies

Mumbai: In a shocking incident a 15-year-old girl has murdered her mother after an argument over her studies. The girl strangled her mother with a karate belt. The incident took place in Navi Mumbai. The girl also tried to pass the murder off as a suicide. However, a police investigation into the matter has revealed that the mother was killed by her 15-year-old daughter.

Shilpa Jadhav (40) and Santosh Jadhav (44) were parents to a 15-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. The couple wanted their daughter to become a doctor. The girl's mother was constantly pressuring her to take up the medical course which the girl was against. This led to frequent arguments between the mother and daughter.

However, on July 30 the mother-daughter duo again had an altercation following which the daughter pushed her mother resulting in serious injuries to her head. She then wrapped a karate belt around her mother's neck and strangulated her to death. Later, she dragged her mother's body to the bedroom and using her mother's mobile send a message to her contacts claiming that she was committing suicide.

Shilpa's brother was the first to reach the spot and broke the bedroom door to find his sister's dead body. After receiving information about the death, police rushed to the spot.

The autopsy report revealed that Shilpa Jadhav had died of severe head injuries and strangulation. The girl confessed to killing her mother after being questioned by the police.
