Yavatmal (Maharashtra): State forest minister Sanjay Rathod, whose name has come up in Tiktok star Puja Chavan death case, visited Pohradevi in Washim district today. After the visit, he interacted with the media in his first public appearance after remaining reclusive for 15 days. In his first-ever reaction to the Puja case, he said that the entire Banjara community is saddened by her death.
"I am also part of the Chavan family. But, the dirty politics that was being played after the death of the girl was totally reprehensible. I am a worker leading OBC class and we have seen how a dirty attempt has been made to finish my political career. The facts that are being disseminated on social media are wrong and baseless. CM has ordered a probe into this matter and the truth will come out. I request you to stop defame me or my family and the Banjara community. My community loves me and many persons meet me and take selfies with me." Rathod appealed to the media not to make him a victim of a public trial.
Visited Pohradevi
Earlier, Sanjay Rathod visited Pohradevi and took darshan of Banjara community's deity. Supporters of the minister were gathered in large number in the temple. The state has imposed section 144 to prevent Corona infection. But, Rathod's supporters were present in huge numbers and so police were also deployed in large number.
