Aurangabad: In a bizarre incident, a man jumped inside the tiger enclosure in Siddharth Garden and Zoo of Maharashtra's Aurangabad on Thursday. The man has been identified as Ravindra Sasane of Krishna Nagar. The man is said to be mentally unstable and was rescued by the security personnel on Friday morning.

According to sources, the incident took place on Thursday night when Ravindra allegedly jumped over the walls of the zoo and got into tiger's enclosure and spent the whole night over there.

Till morning 7 am he was at the place where tigers roam around. Fortunately, a big mishap was averted as the tiger was caged at night, sources said.

The incident came to fore on Friday morning at around 7 am when security guards of the zoo informed their seniors and rescued the man.

On being informed about the incident, Kranti Chowk police reached the zoo and took the mentally ill man into custody.

Later, Ravindra was handed over to his father due to his mental condition. However, the episode raises serious questions about the security standards at Aurangabad Zoo, sources added.
