Mumbai: A woman on Tuesday gave birth to a baby at her home in Chandivali area of Mumbai after hospitals denied her admission in the wake of corona-crisis.
Dr Ravindra Mhaske who runs a clinic nearby came to her rescue and helped the pregnant woman. He said that Pooja Dattatraya Bhise was first taken to Sant Muktabai Municipal General Hospital, where the doctors straightaway denied admitting her stating that the pregnant lady suffered from mild fever.
Thereafter she was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital as her condition deteriorated. However, Hospital authorities revealed no beds were available owning to the corona outbreak. On the other hand, private hospitals demanded lakhs of money, consequently, the family was forced to bring the pregnant woman back home, the doctor added.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has registered 44,384 active cases with 3,169 fatalities recorded so far.
