Stepfather kills toddler in Maharashtra

A man hailing from Aurangabad allegedly strangled his one and half-year-old daughter to death over a family dispute. Later the accused surrendered before the police.

Aurangabad:A shocking case has come to light from Maharashtra's Aurangabad where a man brutally killed his one and half-year-old stepdaughter over a family dispute.

The accused has been identified as Karan Bhosnsle of Bhendala village in Gangapur Taluka.

Bhonsle surrendered before the police on Friday, two days after he strangulated the toddler to death and buried her body.

According to sources, on Wednesday afternoon, Bhonsle and his wife were arguing over some trivial issues. The verbal spat turned violent as Bhonsle started assaulting his wife. Angered by the act, Bhonsle's wife left for her home leaving the toddler with him.

According to police, Bhonsle lost his cool due to the heated argument and when the child started crying, he took her to the Antapur Agriculture Corporation farm. He strangulated her to death and buried her there.

After he disclosed details to the police, Sub Sectional Police Inspector Sandeep Gavit and his team dug out the body of the toddler and send it to a government hospital for postmortem.

Police have also registered a case against him and an investigation is underway.
