Maharashtra government announces complete lockdown

Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced a complete lockdown of the state starting from 8 pm on Thursday. The lockdown to last till May 1.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Wednesday announced a complete lockdown starting from 8 pm on Thursday to May 1, 2021. The government also issued fresh restrictions during this period.

The state also issued new stricter restrictions under 'Break the Chain' initiative, to be implemented from Thursday 8 pm.

As per new directives, marriages may be conducted not extending beyond 2 hrs with max 25 people. Government offices to operate with 15 percent attendance except emergency services

The state reported 67468 new COVID19 cases and 568 new deaths on Wednesday.
