Chandrapur: Intending to save the life of a stray dog that was brutally stabbed with a rod, members of Maharashtra's Pyaar Foundation reached Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh and rescued the canine. The animal welfare NGO helped removed the metal rod which was lodged in the canine's torso. The animal is currently out of danger and it will be shifted to the foundation's animal shelter located in Chandrapur.
The incident took place in the Padrauna area after unknown attackers tried to kill the dog nearly 12 days ago. The animal somehow managed to flee the attack site but did not find help. As soon as the news reached the Pyaar Foundation, Kunal Mahalle and Arpit Singh Thakur scanned social media to trace the animal and reached Gorakhpur to rescue the animal in need. Police and administration helped the team to spot the injured dog and the rod was later removed from the animal's body surgically.
