Badnapur:With plastic waste regarded as the severest environmental concern, the state government is taking all the effective initiatives to ban the use of single-use plastic.
In the wake to stop people from using plastic, the Maharashtra government is rewarding students who are collecting and depositing waste at their schools.
A civic body of Badnapur town in Maharashtra's Jalna district has undertaken an innovative initiative 'Ghari Sathva, Shaalet Pathva’ (Save it at home, send it to school) with a view of involving and educating children about the hazards of plastic waste, which takes hundreds of years to degrade.
Moreover, with this initiative, the school educates students to save the environment by not using plastic.
Students bring all the unused plastic material from home and collect it at school.
