Lack of oxygen claims oxygen researcher's life

Dr Bhalchandra Kakade, a researcher of oxygen, hailing from Kolhapur, died on Friday at the Government Covid hospital in Chennai due to an alleged lack of oxygen.

Kolhapur: A young scientist, who was a researcher of oxygen died due to an alleged lack of oxygen at the government Covid hospital in Chennai on Friday.

The deceased scientist, identified as Dr Bhalachandra Kakade of Maharashtra's Kolhapur.

According to sources, Dr Kakade tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to a government hospital recently. He could not get oxygen at a critical moment and died on Friday.

Sources said that Dr Kakade tested positive after some people in his lab detected the virus affected. Dr Kakade was working on the microscopy attribute of oxygen, at SRM Research Institute in Chennai.

Within three days of his test report, he suffered difficulty breathing and struggled for oxygen, ventilator and medicines but all attempts were in vain.

The person who was researching oxygen for the welfare of humans, could not get oxygen while admitted as a COVID19 patient.

Kakade completed his education at Shivaji University, Kolhapur and after took up the research with a fellowship, he researched fuel production in the chemical laboratory Pune and Tokyo Institute of Technology Laboratory in Japan.
