Mumbai:BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has filed a PIL in the High Court against Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar alleging misconduct.
He had submitted evidence of misappropriation of space at the COVID Center.
However, no action was taken by the administration. Therefore, a Public Interest Litigation has been filed against the mayor, informed Somaiya in a press conference.
Somaiya claimed that despite presenting strong evidence against the mayor, no action has been taken against her yet.
"We have filed a PIL. We will now present our case before the court and bring the culprits to justice," he said.
He said that the outcome is likely to come after Diwali.
Somaiya has alleged that more than half a dozen slums built for poor slum dwellers were built in an illegal manner.
He also accused the Thackeray family of keeping the property in the possession for his own family's company.
Evidence has been submitted to the court, Somaiya said.
"I had promised the people that I would expose the three scams of the Thackeray government and I did it, ”Somaiya said.
He said that even when the Uddhav government completes 1 year, 3 more scams will come out with evidence.
Responding to this, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has given a scathing response that BJP is doing the same thing as in the Mahabharata, while Somaiya is playing the role of 'Shikhandi'.
"Somaiya has accused me of looting SRA's houses and giving municipal contracts to the family members. I have done nothing wrong. He has gone to court so it will be proved in court," he said.
The mayor also said that his only job is to make repeated complaints, harass people and make noise.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Raut attacked Kirit Somaiya and said that the case of Anvay Naik's suicide is different.
"A Marathi woman has lost her husband and she and her family have been demanding justice for months. Trade spokespersons of Shethji's party are not ready to comment on this. These are the land deals of 2014. 21 transactions have been made. No matter how much Kirit Somaiya flutters, nothing will come of it," he said.
"Kirit Somaiya has repeatedly accused the Chief Minister, Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena leaders. Shiv Sena will respond to those allegations in its own way, said Transport Minister and Shiv Sena spokesperson Anil Parab.
