Pune:The India Army on Thursday rescued over 300 people stranded in Pune due to the incessant rains.
According to an official statement by Indian Army's Southern Command, those affected were rescued by the five teams during the intervening night of September 25 and 26.
Till now, at least 12 persons have lost their lives in rain-related incidents after an intense spell of heavy showers pounded the city.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said he was pained to know about the loss of lives due to heavy rains in Pune.
He said teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were deployed in the city and Baramati tehsil, and all necessary assistance was being provided in the affected areas.
