Amravati (Maharashtra):Dr Sandesh Prakash Gulhane, who has his roots in Maharashtra's Amravati, has become the first Indian to become an MP in Scotland.
Dr Gulhane was born in London to Prakash Gulhane and Pushpa Gulhane, who were then residents of Bhaji Bazar area in Amravati.
A doctor by profession, Dr Gulhane used to work at a hospital in UK's Kilbride as an Orthopaedic Registrar. Alongside, he gradually entered Scottish politics. Earlier this year, he declared that he will contest from Glasgow Pollok. He was fielded as a candidate by the Scottish Conservative and Unionist party and he went on to win the election.
