Maharashtra local body polls: Shiv Sena fights BJP, Congress, NCP alliance in Khanapur

Khanapur village in Maharastra has assumed significance in Maharastra local body polls. Unlike other villages, Shiv Sena battles with the alliance of BJP, Congress, NCP in the BJP state president Chandrakant Patil's Khanapur village.

Kolhapur:As Maharastra local body polls are ahead, Shiv Sena, NCP, Congress and BJP have braced oneself for the contest. The Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP have a coalition government in the state.

However, BJP state president Chandrakant Patil's Khanapur village in Bhudargad taluk has diverted his strategy. BJP, Congress and NCP are coming together and fighting the Sena. Chandrakant Patil also held a press conference on the backdrop of the recent Gram Panchayat elections and said that efforts are being made to ensure the victory of BJP candidates in as many villages as possible. So, Chandrakant Dada's village would witness Congress fighting with the NCP and the Sena.

Background of Khanapur village

BJP state president Chandrakant Patil's Khanapur village has a population of about 2,500 to 3,000. Usually, a fierce battle is witnessed among village group for nine seats.

Other than Chandrakant Patil, MLA Prakash Abitkar, KP Patil are influential in the village. Currently, Prakash Abitkar is the Shiv Sena MLA in this constituency. Therefore, the Shiv Sena group in Khanapur village has fielded its candidates for all the seats.

However, BJP, Congress and NCP have come together to fight the Sena. So now the election in this village is even more interesting. Meanwhile, on one hand, there is a picture of three parties against BJP in the state, but in Khanapur, there is a picture of three parties against Shiv Sena.

All eyes on Chandrakant Patil's village

Everyone eyes on Khanapur village as it is the BJP state president's village. While the Sena has fielded its candidates in all the nine seats, the BJP has to seek the help of the Congress and NCP.
