Mumbai (Maharashtra):At least 23 alumni from IIT Mumbai have come forward to contribute from their end to overcome the spread of Coronavirus across the country. The largest corona testing lab which can test three lakh citizens a day will be set up soon.
The lab, which is being set up by alumni of IITs, will be ready in the next few days and will have the capacity to screen more than 1 crore citizens, said Ravi Sharma, President of IIT Alumni Council. Although it has not been decided yet where the lab will be set up, it is said that the lab will be located either in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai area.
Mumbai has the highest number of corona patients in the country. The alumni of IITs had provided state-of-the-art mobile labs as citizens needed to be examined.
