First batch of 225 Indians stranded in US arrive in Mumbai

Air India's first evacuation flight from the US, with 225 Indians from San Francisco landed at Mumbai on Monday morning. The airport authorities, in a statement on Saturday, said that the arriving passengers with symptoms will be moved to isolation centres.

Mumbai (Maharashtra):The first batch of 225 Indian nationals stranded in the US due to the coronavirus-linked global travel restrictions arrived here from San Francisco early on Monday morning.

Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar took to Twitter and informed about the touch down of the stranded people in Indian soil.

The airport authorities, in a statement on Saturday, said that the arriving passengers with symptoms will be moved to isolation centres.

Asymptomatic passengers residing in Mumbai will be moved to quarantine facilities like hotels, while those from outside of the city will be transported by the state to their respective district headquarters, it said.
