Satara:The family of archer Pravin Jadhav, who represented India in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, is facing alleged threats from their neighbours against renovating their house in Sarde village of Maharashtra's Satara district. After Pravin's return from Tokyo, his family apprised him about the dispute. According to sources, the dispute among his family and neighbours over the renovation of the house has reached the administration.

Earlier, the four members of the Jadhav family used to live in a hut in Phaltan taluka as Pravin's parents are daily wagers. But after he was enrolled in the Army Sports Institute in Pune, they built a concrete house with a tin roof on the land provided by the Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation Limited. When the family decided to renovate their tin house, they were opposed and warned by the neighbours, sources said.

Following the opposition, Pravin's father Ramesh Jadhav informed that the land was allotted by the state authorities for the construction of the house. Despite this, the neighbours are opposing the construction and renovation here, he said. He also alleged that the neighbours had threatened to demolish their house if they proceed with the renovation.

"If we cannot live here with satisfaction, why live in this village? If there is no cooperation in the village, we will move to another place. We are ready to relocate to any other place where the government will provide us with the land," Ramesh Jadhav said.

Meanwhile, Rambhau Shendge, former sarpanch of Sarde village, has warned of mass self-immolation if the matter is not resolved. He said that such threats against the families of Indian players were reprehensible.
