Mumbai: Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent a notice to Varsha Raut, senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut’s wife on Sunday in connection with the investigation of the PMC bank scam.

However, when the media contacted Sanjay Raut over the phone, he said that the ED's notice has not reached us yet. He has said that he will give reaction after getting the notice of ED.

Reportedly, the investigation agency has asked Varsha to appear on December 29.

According to sources, some transactions took place in Varsha Raut's account. ED wants to know how this transaction happened and the reason behind it. Raut has been called for complete information.

She has been summoned in connection with the same transaction which is said to be a loan borrowed by her for purchase of a property, sources said.

Varsha has been asked to be present at the ED office on Tuesday (29). The notice has been issued under section 67. So now Varsha Raut will have to face the ED's inquiry.

However, we have not received any notice from the ED, said Raut.

Before Varsha Raut, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has summoned NCP leader Eknath Khadse for questioning at a land deal in Bhosari near Pune. Khadse has been asked to come to the ED's Mumbai office on December 30.

Khadse himself gave the information and said that he would appear before the ED. Khadse was the revenue minister when the then Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra asked him to resign in 2016 after he was accused in the land deal.

After working in the BJP for 40 years, Khadse recently joined the NCP. Meanwhile, Khadse has been asked to be present at the ED's Mumbai office on December 30.

Earlier, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Saranaik was also summoned by the ED. Now that the ED notice has come to his house, all eyes are on Raut.
