Mumbai: Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Director and senior scientist, Dr Pradeep Kurulkar arrested last week for passing security sensitive information to Pakistani women intelligence agent has shared sensitive information to the Pakistani operative about Brahmos and Agni missiles through email, sources said.
Kurulkar was arrested on May 3 by the Maharashtra Anti-terrorist squad on charges of being in contact with a Pakistani woman spy and passing sensitive security information in an alleged honey-trap case. Additional sessions judge on Tuesday extended the remand of Kurulkar till May 15. Sources said that ATS investigation has revealed that Kurulkar was in contact with the woman Pakistani intelligence agent through e-mail in lieu of obscene photos and shared sensitive information related to Brahmos and Agni missiles, ATS sources said.

Kurulkar has been associated with Akash missile launchers and defence projects. ATS sources said that the tainted DRDO scientist visited many foreign countries this Pakistan possibly one of them. Kurulkar is accused to have been in contact with the operatives of Pakistan's Intelligence Operative (PIO) through WhatsApp messages and voice and video calls for the last six months.
Suspecting his Pakistan links, the vigilance wing at the DRDO Pune had intimated the Maharashtra ATS, which started tracking him before arresting him on May 3. Kurulkar was lead designer in the successful design, development and delivery of a number of Military Engineering Systems and Equipment including Missile Launchers for Programme Air Defence (AD), Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM), Nirbhay Subsonic Cruise Missile System, Prahar, Quick Reaction-SAM, eXtra-long Range-SAM, Hyperbaric Chamber and Mobile Power Supply and High Pressure Pneumatic Systems.
