Panaji (Goa): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on Sunday, said that two people have lost their lives in separate incidents due to Cyclone Tauktae.
While one person died after coming under a huge tree that fell due to heavy rains and strong winds, an electric pole fell on another person traveling on a bike.
"Two deaths have been reported in Goa. More than 500 trees have fallen. Around 100 major houses and 100 minor houses were damaged. Roads are blocked. The power supply is disrupted," Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
The chief minister also said that the toll may increase. Sawant said that most parts of Goa are currently without electricity, adding that it will take two days to restore things.
