Covid patient attacks doctor with saline stand in Maharashtra

A Covid patient has been arrested for attacking a doctor with a saline stand at Alibag District General Hospital in Maharashtra. The doctor has sustained serious eye injury.

Raigad: A Covid patient attacked a doctor at Alibag District General Hospital in Maharashtra on Tuesday night. The doctor has sustained serious eye injury after the patient attacked his head with the saline stand from the back while he was on night duty in the ICU Covid ward.

A case has been registered at Alibag police station and the attacker has been taken into custody.

Doctor Swapnadeep Thale is undergoing treatment and further investigation into the matter is underway. According to police, the accused is a resident of Lonare village in Alibag district.

The incident has created panic in the medical fraternity. Notable, two months back Dr Vikramjit Padole and Dr Rajiv Tamble were also attacked by the relatives of a patient at the same hospital.
