Centenarian couple from Latur defeats Corona

A centenarian couple from Latur defeated Corona and returned home within seven days. With timely detection and medical intervention one can overcome the infection, they opined. Dhenu Umaji Chavan (105) from Katgaon Tanda taluka in Latur district and his wife Motabai Chavan (95) were affected with Corona. They were admitted to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical Super Speciality Hospital in Latur.

Dhenu Umaji Chavan (105) from Katgaon Tanda taluka in Latur district and his wife Motabai Chavan (95) were affected with Corona. They were admitted to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical Super Speciality Hospital in Latur.

After seven days of treatment, they returned home fully cured. Dhenu Chavan, in his reaction after coming home, said "Don't panic. You can defeat Corona." The family of the elderly couple was worried after both tested positive for Corona. Their son Suresh Chavan took them to the hospital immediately. The team led by Hospital Dean, Dr Sudhir Deshmukh, Dr Shailendra Chauhan, Dr Gajanan Halkanche, and Dr Dharmadhikari treated the elderly couple.

The doctors were able to cure them within seven days. The elderly couple is now back home. They have appealed to people to keep hope without fearing Corona. With proper medical care it can be cured, they said.

Their son Suresh Chavan said, "When we got to know that both my elderly parents were Corona positive we were numb. I took them to the hospital where they were put on ventilators. Seeing this I was worried. But the doctors gave me hope and asked me to be patient. They will be cured, I was told."
