Jalgaon:Geeta, who was on her way to Parbhani in search of her family, came to Bhusawal in Jalgaon district on Sunday evening. She was given a warm welcome by the Rotary Club of Bhusawal Tapti Valley. She was overwhelmed by the love of Bhusavalkars. Accepting the good wishes of the members of the Rotary Club with sweet memories of the reception, she left for Parbhani.
While going to Parbhani from Madhya Pradesh, Geeta reached Bhusawal at 5 pm on Sunday. She was accompanied by Gyanendra Purohit of Anand Seva Sanstha in Indore, Bagdiram Babar, Dipendra Rajput of Madhya Pradesh Police and Farheen Khan of Women Police. All were welcomed by the Rotary Club of Bhusawal Tapti Valley. The event was organized by Rotary Club of Bhusawal Tapti Valley President Sudhakar Sananse, Project Secretary Sanjay Bhatkar, Former Governor Rajiv Sharma, Secretary Jeevan Mahajan, Sunil Wankhede, Yogesh Ingle, Pradip Mahajan, Bala Rajput, Rahul Ambekar. Sudhakar Sananse and Sanjay Bhatkar testified that the Rotary Club would help in reuniting Geeta with her family.
Geeta was lost 20 years ago
The family of the deaf and mute Geeta, who reached Pakistan by mistake 20 years ago, is being traced. Geeta had reached Amritsar by train when she was 8 years old. From there, she was found in the Samjhauta Express near Lahore. After living in Pakistan for ten to twelve years, she was brought to India on 26 October 2015 by the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. She has been in Anand Seva Sanstha for four months after staying in Indore's Mukbadhir Sanghatana Ashram for five years.
