Mumbai (Maharashtra): With the exit of Nana Patole as the speaker of Maharashtra legislative assembly, governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has written a letter to the state government inquiring about its plans to hold elections for the vacant post.
The governor Koshyari has directed the government to conduct an election for a new speaker before budget session, which is due within a few days.
This letter is speculated to intensify the ongoing tussle between the governor and government. Taking the governor's queries into consideration, the state cabinet held a discussion on the matter. The three constituent parties of MahaVikas Aghadi (MVA) sat together and held deliberations.
