Pune (Maharashtra):As per a recent survey conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), about 85 per cent of parents agreed to send their children to school. Parents and teachers from across the state participated in the survey which was open till July 12 on the link http://www.maa.ac.in/survey. The response to the website showed that 85 per cent of parents are in favour of sending their children to school. Notably, the survey received the highest response from rural areas which lacked facilities for online classes. As many as 2,69,116 citizens participated in the survey of which 1,24,016 parents from rural areas expressed their opinion about the re-opening of schools.
Earlier, the state government decided to reopen schools in places where no Covid-19 cases have been reported in a month. Schools in such areas can open from July 15 for classes 8 to 12 and conduct teaching in an offline mode.
