Chandrapur (Maharashtra):In an unfortunate incident, 6 family members including 3 minors died from having inhaled carbon monoxide following a generator explosion that took place at their residence in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on Tuesday. According to police, the victims who were natives of Durgapur had died of asphyxiation while they were asleep.
According to reports, there was no power supply in some areas of Durgapur due to heavy rains in the regions. Hence, a senior member of the family had powered on the generator in their residence. However, in the wee hours of Tuesday, the generator exploded apparently emitting carbon monoxide which led to the tragedy.
Police have identified the deceased as Ramesh Lashkar (25), a contractor, Ajay Lashkar (21), Lakhan Lashkar (10), Krishna Lashkar (8), Pooja Lashkar (14) and Madhuri Lashkar (20).
