49 children injured as bus skids off road in Maharashtra

Around 49 children were injured as a bus skidded off the road in Vada of Palghar district. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital immediately.

Palghar: Around 49 children travelling in a bus sustained injuries when the bus met with an accident in Maharashtra's Palghar district early Tuesday morning.

The incident took place when the bus travelling on the Pivli-Vada road, skidded off and landed into the pit near the road.

All the injured have been admitted to the nearest local hospital.

According to the police, the incident took place early in the morning around 6:30 am when a woman suddenly emerged in front of the bus.

In an attempt to save the woman, the driver lost the control and the bus went into the pit near the road leading to the mishap.

Further investigation is underway.
