Pune youth commits suicide as roommate forced him to smoke

Sagar Ashok Pawar was sharing a room at the hostel with 30-year-old Lakshman Patil and the latter was forcing Sagar to smoke for many days.

Pune: An 18-year-old committed suicide in boys' hostel in Karve Nagar, Maharashtra after his roommate forced him to smoke.

Sagar Ashok Pawar was sharing a room at the hostel with 30-year-old Lakshman Patil and the latter was forcing Sagar to smoke for many days.

According to police, Sagar who was working for a private company was threatened and forced to smoke by Patil. Stressed, Sagar hanged himself in the room.

The incident is said to have taken place between October 10 and 13.

Warje police have registered a case against accused Laxman Patil for inciting suicide and further investigation is on by Sub-Inspector of Police V.S.D Jadhav.
