Orchard in MP that grows rare mango varieties

Two brothers from Madhya Pradesh's Rajpura village have been growing over 50 varieties of mangoes which include the world's heaviest mango Amrapuri and a variety from Florida called 'Sensation'.

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Two farmers of Rajpura village in Dhar in Madhya Pradesh - Rameshwar Aglecha and Jagdish Aglecha had planted 2000 mango saplings 10 years ago in an unpaved field of 0.6 acres.

These mango trees are now full of mangoes, including Amrapuri mango that is four and a half kilos in weight. The orchard also has some of the top quality mangoes found around the world including the US, Mexico and Afghanistan.

More than 50 varieties of mangoes are grown in the orchard. There are several varieties of indigenous mangoes like Langra, Chausa, Malihabadi, Kesar, Malda, Himsagar, etc along with top varieties of foreign breed mangoes including the 'Sensation' from Florida. In the Indian market, 'Sensation' mangoes have a selling price of Rs 1000 per kg. The farmer brothers are getting orders from several Indian states and Dubai for their organically grown mangoes.
