Indore:The controversial film 'The Kerala Story' is going strong at the box office drawing both criticisms and appreciation. Scriptwriter of the film, Suryapal Singh shared the story behind the making of the film.
Due to the subject matter of the film, it was rejected on many platforms. Then, a research was done for six years apprehending the opposition it may face on release, he said. Infact no writer was ready to pen down the script of this film. So, the producers too were also not ready to go ahead with it, he added. Finally, director Sudipto Sen met budding script writer Suryapal Singh and approached him to write the complete script of the film.
Suryapal said that the script of the film has not been written like that of other films. He said that every scene and plot of the film has been written according to the experiences of the victims and after speaking with them. The film has earned Rs 90 crores so far.
